You want to show it that this is not just a little bit better, but a lot better.
Quantum mechanics was developed to understand the physics of the small, you know, atoms, molecules.
This is John Martinez.
And, well, probably the most famous thing about me is I was awarded the Nobel Prize.
In fact, when I was writing up my thesis, I listened to a talk by Richard Feynman on quantum of beauty.
But what I remember is after the talk, he was just mobbed by all the physicists asking him questions.
So the professors were kind of on the inner ring and then the postdocs.
I was a graduate student.
I could barely hear what was going on.
What I learned from that is that this was a great physics question.
Yeah, that was kind of a great culmination of my graduate studies.
Yeah, a transformative event, really.
Frankly, it seemed really impossible in the beginning, you know, in the 1990s.
Now, this was really hard.
So, you know, as I was doing the research and kind of in academia, I was very happy.
But as I thought about the future and, you know, how hard it was to build a quantum computer, when Google talked to me, I was really interested because, of course, they would have the resources.
Well, you know, I understand the rivalry.
And, you know, I heard through back channels, I don't know if it's true, that they had a whole team.
They knew this was coming out.
