So as as Newberg's case is advancing, right, he has to in order to get the court martial, he has to be approved by the commanding officer, Thomas Gage in New York.
And Gage and several other officers will write about this and say, I really wish this wouldn't go to trial.
This is just going to stir up a lot of bad feelings.
It can't be proven one way or the other.
It's going to to your point, it's going to waste everybody's time.
And so I think that's in many ways the Army's official position and probably, you know, in many ways still is.
If this isn't disrupting the Corps, we're going to let it go.
