Scientists have discovered quite a lot of different kinds of small animals living there.
And they've discovered that half of that biodiversity lives directly on the nodules themselves.
So when you remove the nodules, you've removed their habitats.
And those nodules take a million or more years to form.
It really is one of our last relatively pristine frontiers.
I think that we are not yet ready to destroy them.
Until we better understand what it is we would be giving up.
