How big is it?

Not very big, not very big, but then I'm not very big either.

I am wincing.

I think I can see my legacy already in my students who are now grown-up scientists and contributing themselves and in the past members of the Ice and Climate Division who have done amazingly well and who are carrying on the work.

I realised that many of the things that happened to me as a child came back at me during my life.

And the first time I actually flew a plane in the Antarctic, I couldn't understand why I was suddenly overwhelmed with joy until I remembered, oh yes, when I was a little girl.

this would have been the absolute height of my ambition.

All those Biggles books.

I'd prefer an Antarctic island because I do have a bit of a thing about polar bears, so I'd prefer them to be not anywhere near me.

And would you be happy?

I've been happy in most places, Lauren, so I expect I could manage.

What's it going to be and why?

Right.

Well, just in case there's a bit of lowering of morale on this desert island, I think I better have something which is absolutely guaranteed to bring you from the depths, which are acknowledged.
