Now, guess what IL-23 does?
It induces IL-17.
So it's upstream, if you like.
And the immune system is often like that.
Like dominoes, I suppose.
So the IL-23 domino knocks over the IL-17 domino and then you get psoriasis.
So lo and behold, companies begin to develop ways to block IL-23.
And these work just as well.
So sometimes someone might respond better to an IL-23 targeted therapy than IL-17.
There's options now.
Dermatologists are delighted.
because they've got a few weapons to use now against this disease.
The main IL-23 drug is called Skyrizzy, made by AbbVie.
Again, there's several of them, and it's just examples.
Skyrizzy and Cosentix are trade names for these.
And these are making a massive difference.
