And so it would be actually very difficult to get it removed because it's not there in the first place.

They've um they've been working on this for almost twenty years now.
And and as part of working on it, they've worked out that they wanna keep people engaged.
And so they've come up with various different tricks to keep people engaged.
Things like uh sending you a notification when you haven't been on a social media platform for a while, autoplaying content when it first when you first open the the
mm your social media apps so that you can see that content and get engaged straight a straight away.
An opportunity to like things and to count how many likes you get and get excited about the fact that everybody's liked things.
And then my favorite, the big bad, is uh the infinite scroll.
When you get to the bottom of the page, there's just more content that appears.
Even if these days that content is less and less stuff from your friends and more
More and more from companies you follow or advertisers that want to put something in front of you.
And you can just scroll forever if you want to.

But of course, as you noted, we can also come up with strategies to manage our own addiction as well.
