LBJ didn't think he was going to lose.

I guarantee you didn't wake up one day and say, oh, yeah, how can I actually become probably the worst president in history and then beg for other presidents to come in like Jimmy Carter or so forth to bail him out?

I mean, this is really, they don't wake up that way, I guarantee you.

What they're waking up is they're, I think, mesmerized by this illusion of control of escalation.

And you even hear President Trump saying, when will Iran reach the breaking point?

That was exactly the rhetoric of LBJ.
