So chronic means longstanding.
Obstructive means the picture we get when you breathe out.
So you blow into a machine and it has a picture of obstruction.
Pulmonary is lungs and disease is disease.
So COPD is very common.
The vast majority caused by smoking.
It can be caused by other things.
In other parts of the world, indoor cooking can produce COPD.
That causes irritation of the airways.
