Uh and end-to-end encryption, of course, is one of the kind of the minimal privacy standard that you want for online elections.
At an absolute minimum, you don't want the server or whoever controls the server to immediately see how you're voting.
So absolutely that's necessary.

for what it's worth, did have end-to-end encryption of the individual votes.
So even somebody who broke into the server couldn't immediately see how you voted.
However, that doesn't completely solve the problem.
It doesn't solve the manipulation problem.
The problem that somebody could just substitute a different encrypted vote for your vote.
And it only partially solves the privacy problem because somebody still has to decrypt it eventually in order to count it.
And then the question is, well, how well is it disassociated from your identity?
uh before it gets decrypted.
And there are some fancy cryptographic protocols for
Doing that disassociation.
Uh but there are also some limitations to those protocols and some people who still need to be trusted.
I mean the same way that people do, by crawling the web or buying collections of it.
