Now, Jan Carson is one of Northern Ireland's most prolific writers and some of her books you might have read include Firestarters and The Raptures.
Her latest novel is Few and Far Between and I think it's her best.
It's set mostly in the summer of 2017 as the last few residents of the Lough Neagh archipelago are facing imminent eviction because a flood planned to combat a devastating algae outbreak caused
is going to submerge their homes, forcing them back to what they call the mainland, Northern Ireland, for the first time in 50 years.
The idea of moving to this archipelago was a sort of a utopia, a place away from the troubles, but all was not what it seems.
