Yes, my name is Rachel Harrelson and I'm a speech therapist and I am located in Burleson, Texas, which is just south of Fort Worth.

And the name of my practice is Southern Star Speech and Language.

I am so

So um my story is a little interesting.

I was in the Navy for eight years.

I was a corpsman, so a medic basically, and I was going to nursing school at the same time.

My oldest son, who's now 20, he was diagnosed with high-functioning autism and ADHD and required that speech therapy.

I had no idea what speech therapy was at the time.

This was like 04, 05.

I had no idea.

So I would go with him to his

sessions and watch through the little window.

And I'm like, this is so cool.

You know, if I wasn't already in nursing school, that, you know, this would be something fun.

And lo and behold, my husband, who's also military, we got transferred to Waco, Texas, in um, oh gosh, it was 2010.

And they did not have a nursing school nearby.

With that being said, I had to change my major and Baylor University was down the street and they offered an amazing communication sciences program and I applied and got in and got my bachelors and masters through them in the four years that we were stationed there and then we left.

It worked out really perfectly.
