When she mentions getting up cow heavy, I have to wonder is it if she was pregnant with Nicholas or Frida at this time? 'Cause you sort of imagine someone who's been slowed down by the fact that they're very heavily pregnant.
She was quite tall and graceful.
And I imagine someone very tall and graceful like her would hardly describe herself as a cow getting up out of bed in a Victorian nightgown.
For me, I see this three images of motherhood you have.
thinking about herself as a mother and then the physicality that comes with it.
I guess that open mouth that could be one of her children.
But it's very loving in the way that she would write a loving poem.
For me.
Well, Plath never struck me as I've mentioned before, as being very sentimental or being overly emotional.
She will love you, but then she will honestly say how it makes her feel.
You know, describing herself moving through the world hindered.
But then also thinking about the way we sort of come into it.
Her own husband kind of maybe being shaked about, and now he sleeps beside her, this sort of big heavy thing breathing.
And then the breathing of her own children and how she she feels, like maybe her own body quite hasn't gotten back to where it has to be.
And she's sort of having these, I don't want to say out-of-body experiences, but she's sort of reconfiguring how she is literally.
Literally moving through the world.
At the same time, the marvel that comes with crying out, making noises, the singing notes and the whiteness and the brightness of it.
It's a very honest look at being alive and being transformed.
No, it's honest.
Well, it's none of this like Mother Gaia imagery.
