Captain Timish tells Ruth to stay put.

He'll send an ambulance.

But Ruth is still worried the guy could be following her.

She tells Timmish she's going to drive home.

She gets back in her car and Captain Timish calls Ed to warn him she's coming.

Sitting in the passenger seat, wedged sideways to accommodate the knife sticking out of her, Ruth starts to slip in and out of consciousness.

They get to the hospital and the orderlies get Ruth on a gurney immediately.

The pain has become unbearable.

Lieutenant Drowatsky arrives at the hospital along with some other cops.
