To the flesh, it sounds like being a victim all the time.
But in Psalms, what he's saying is, you will show me the path of life.
In thy presence is fullness of joy.
And being on the altar before the Lord as a living sacrifice, this is fullness of joy.
And at thy right hand are pleasures forevermore.
It's not
It's not a bummer to be living before the Lord in total submission to him.
And so the reality is when you're harboring some sin and you're afraid to let it go, even though you know you should, what you're being afraid of is joy in life.
Like you're being afraid of something that's just so much better than you.
than whatever you're doing.
And it is, like anything, walk by faith, not by sight.
You can't see the joy always.
You can't see it before you obey.
So it's sort of a don't wait for the emotion to get you there.
Act in faith, that obedience of doing the thing, not waiting to feel like doing the thing.
And God is so kind to us because so often that obedient action is what brings the emotion, but the emotion's not there first a lot of the time.
