So basically, if it wasn't for Shoba,
Zayho would be alive today.
On the other hand, the defense called Musi's credibility into question.
He was a violent criminal who was known to lie.
He was a small town gangster who was illegally selling cigarettes, and that is why him and Shoba were together on those occasions.
It was for the illegal cigarettes, not for planning the murder.
The defense characterized Musi as a storyteller who came up with an entire fantasy to implicate Shoba in a crime that he did not commit.
The defense argued that this murder was all Musi's doing.
But again, as we know, Musi didn't really have a motive.
He didn't even know Zeho.
He was in constant communication with Shoba, who did actually have a motive to want Zeho out of his life.
And that is what the evidence proved as well.
So by the end of the trial, the judge came to his decision.
He found that Ntutuko Shoba was guilty of the premeditated murder of Zeho Pule.
For this, he was sentenced to life in prison.
Now, in the aftermath of this horrible murder, people were outraged.
Many of you may know, but there is a massive problem of violence against women in South Africa.
So, when Zeho was found hanging from a tree in such a gruesome way, people came out in droves to express their disgust with the men in their country.
they want to make it known that violence against women is not acceptable and never will be and it needs to stop.
Many people came out to support Zayho's family and to mourn the loss of this beautiful young woman and her baby.
