At that time though, Madison told officers that she only wanted to press charges against Roan for the assault on Oakley, not for hers.

A few days later, officers issued an arrest warrant for Roan for charges of child abuse and domestic battery.

However, no arrest was ever made and even though there was a warrant out for his arrest, apparently officers felt that since Oakley and Colton were with their mother, there was no cause for concern when Zach reported them missing.

Even though, again, it was known that Roan had previously abused both her and Oakley.

Despite this, nothing else happened in this case until March 3rd, 2023.

That day, the Greenwood Village Police Department in Colorado ended up finding and arresting Roane Waters on an outstanding warrant after receiving a noise complaint for her room at a Best Western hotel.

When making the arrest, they found that Madison was also staying at the hotel, but she wasn't actually present when police arrived.

There was also no sign that either of the children were with them at the time.

After his arrest, Colorado officers got into contact with officers from Oklahoma since he also had an outstanding warrant there.

The agencies then worked together to question Roan about what happened over those three months.

In the days following, officers also spoke with different witnesses, including family members and friends of Roan's.

To avoid being repetitive, I'm going to sort of combine everything they told officers up to this point.

Rohn said that in mid-January, he, Madison, Oakley, and Colton left Oklahoma in his blue Dodge Durango and headed to Indiana.

Once there, he said that he stayed in a home owned by his mother on Albany Street in downtown Indianapolis.

During the months, Roan's mother said that she only saw Oakley one time and it was pretty much right after they got to Indiana.

She explained that when visiting them at the house that one time, she saw Madison as she helped Oakley use the bathroom.

At that time, she noticed bruising on Oakley's legs.

She asked Madison and Roan about the bruises, but they immediately got extremely defensive and demanded that she leave.

After that, the mother left and stopped visiting, though she and Rowan's sister, Kiana, they did buy some baby formula and other supplies to help the couple with taking care of the children since they showed up to that house with absolutely nothing.

But the couple actually had no interest in actually taking care of the children.
