She worked there as a baker, so she probably gets there very early in the morning to get the baked goods ready for the day.
By around 10 a.m.
that same day, she then texted her HR manager asking her to call her.
According to the manager, the first words out of Samantha's mouth on that call were, I effed up.
I just killed two Amish people.
They were kids.
I just hit an effing buggy and I killed two people.
I'm not sober.
She sounded hysterical.
So she asked Samantha if she had been drinking, to which Samantha said, no, she was messed up on meth.
She confirmed that she did call 911.
but admitted that she also called Sarah to come meet her at the scene.
The HR manager then showed officers her phone, which confirmed what she had just told them.
From there, obviously officers wanted to confirm everything they just learned.
They checked surveillance footage and saw that Samantha did leave work around 7.50 that morning.
The drive from Rochester to Stewardsville was about 30 minutes, so that matches up with when the crash happened.
They also listened to that 911 call.
Most of it was very difficult to understand due to how emotional and upset the caller was, but at one point she can be heard saying, I didn't see them coming up the hill.
To officers, it sounded clear as day that Samantha was the one who made the call, not Sarah.
As they were confirming Samantha's whereabouts from that morning, they also wanted to see where Sarah was and what she was up to.
