So they chose him and Juliana testified in court that they chose him because they thought he would fulfil that violent sexual fantasy.

So he was lewd to the home and obviously the rest is history.

So I think hearing from the au pair herself was obviously very shocking.

You know, she very much just laid out the whole plan herself.

and but also the in graphic detail the actual moment that she alleges she saw Brendan Banfield stab his wife repeatedly to death and this was very violent she was stabbed multiple times including in the jugular so you know this is very graphic also one thing that was particularly shocking was in the opening statements the prosecutor laid out the instructions that Joseph Ryan was given and

Obviously, the argument is who gave him those instructions, but they were quite explicit.

The door will be unlocked, Christine will be asleep in her bed, come straight upstairs, cut off the clothing, tie her, rape her.

So it's very graphic, violent imagery going on there.

Julianna's reached a plea deal, so it'll be a case of her sentencing afterwards.

So Brendan is charged with four counts of aggravated murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

He's actually also charged with child abuse and felony child cruelty.

given the fact his four-year-old daughter was inside the home at the time of the killings.

So he's facing up to life in prison if he is convicted on the murder charges.

Yeah, so we've been following this case very closely since it started.

So Monique and Spencer Tepe were found murdered inside their home in Columbus, Ohio, back on December 30th.

And for about 10 days, there was no suspect named, no arrest made, and police were very tight-lipped about what was going on with the investigation.
