Obviously the burdens on them to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Lindsay is guilty. matched

So based on that, the defense very much seemed to present a more succinct and believable argument per those jurors in the room, at least. matched

And so this is where the prosecution could benefit because they can go back to the drawing board, they can revamp their case, they can take out some experts, they can bring in different experts, they can totally change their strategy to come back a second time. matched

They also know all of the defences' cards. matched

They know the witnesses they're gonna call, they know the various things that they didn't perhaps know going into the trial. matched

We all got the sense that they didn't know that the chaplain was also gonna corroborate the story that she heard a voice. matched

You know, that was not something that was documented in the chaplain's notes. matched

You know, I do think the state benefits from a second trial. matched

And I think that's also partly why the defense is saying we're ready to go now, because, you know, Kevin Reddington, I think, is pleased with how he handled the case, is pleased with the fact that most jurors did agree that it was not guilty by reason of insanity. matched
