From things they've sort of said when the jury hasn't been around, um, inside the courtroom still, they possibly it seems like they might be planning to suggest that she did plan to kill the the children and herself, but that she didn't manage to go through with it.
Something that they will probably then in say indicates that maybe she was of sound mind.

But these are the kind of arguments that, you know, we're trying to sort of piece together what they're arguing as we're going through the the testimony.
Yeah, so as we mentioned, Lindsay Clancy's defence does not dispute that she killed the children.
There is no question about that.
Instead, the defense led by attorney Kevin Reddington, who is well known in Massachusetts, he's known for actually representing
The mobster James Whitey Bulger's girlfriend after she went on the run with him for many years.
So he's um a very well-known figure here.
But Kevin Reddington is arguing that Lindsay Clancy was suffering from severe mental illness at the time, and that she is not criminally responsible.
So he is arguing that she was suffering from postpartum depression.
And postpartum psychosis.
They also claimed that she was suffering from undiagnosed bipolar disorder.
