Well, I think we have this tendency, especially with...
areas of culture that are traditionally dominated by women, we want to say that something needs to be justified and it needs to have something serious behind it that allows us to like or appreciate or spend time thinking about this subject.
But I think our sort of go-to for fashion over the past, I would say, decade and a half has been, you know, this is considered by many people to be shallow, to be wasteful, to be environmentally unfriendly or harmful.
And it's actually okay, though, that we appreciate it because it's like art.
And what I find sort of...
troubling, troubling about that is that the joy to me, the great pleasure and joy of fashion is that it actually is much more present in our lives than art is.
You know, I think to see art, one has to seek it out.
Of course, there's a wonderful tradition of public art, of street art, and that's become much more appreciated and
predominant in our culture over the past several decades.
