Um, and then sometimes made a recommendation.
And what I found and often like Ricky said, most of our conversations have been through interpreters, which is adds another layer of difficulty and complication.
A lot of the patients, family members that we were talking to were saying, 'cause a lot of our patients also had concomitant delirium.
Um
We're saying, you know, I under I hear what you're saying, Doctor Bernacy, but they're not that sick right now.
And so, you know, I prefer to to keep them full coat or, you know, whatever.
And and um
And I actually the way I sort of f have become come to frame that is that we are providing some anticipatory guidance or kind of preparing people for just in time decision making, like Rebecca Sidori talks about.
And so we have had a number of those patients, um
uh then later in the course of their hospitalization to compensate.
Some of them have done well and gone home and that's been great.
And some of them have not and then
uh our part of we've been sh changing the pager.
The pager's been pretty busy, so every night we change to a different attending and a lot of the uh the teams will page and they'll have conversations and
for some for most of those patients they've converted to intensive comfort measures.
And I think what I've kind of come to actually talk to my mom about this, but
Uh said you know, even though those conversations are incredibly hard, I think there there's a way that we're helping to prepare people for what might happen and
Um but I have to say I've I felt conflicted about it and um
And I actually reached out to Muriel Gillick this week 'cause I I felt like I just wanted to talk with her about like, is this the right frame?
