For Caleb specifically, I think it has a lot to do with the fire hose treatment that he got at the beginning of last season in training camp and how we did see a very slow progression and the slope of him improving in real time.

We got to watch it like game to game.

segment of season to segment of season because remember they broke it up into four game chunks that's how they kind of measured the progress in-house of Caleb Williams four games at a time and by the end we saw even though he had to lean on the running game through a lot of that

He was the one making the plays that made a difference at the end of games.

And that's what everybody wants to focus on.

But Layla, if you go back and just look at the first half of these games that we watched last season, you'll see a lot of what he's talking about.

It's easy to remember specifically the great plays at end of games where it is not in structure.

But if you look at what would happen not in structures like he either ran for something, he avoids the sack, but picks up a couple of yards or five yards, whatever, on the ground, or he throws it away to live another down.

I didn't have a problem with that because he was just almost surviving at that point.

But now you need to see the next step, which is what Robert's talking about, what Ben Johnson's talking about, what Caleb himself has talked about.

So if you factor in drops and you factor in throwaways, then you're talking about a remarkably different completion percentage just there.

I'm not saying that the quarterback is without responsibility here.

But when you start to add all these things up together, avoid the sack was number one.

I think that should hopefully mean you're not always flushed out of the pocket.

We still don't know who's playing left tackle.

This concerns me greatly when it comes to the regularity of not being able to be flushed out of the pocket.

In fact, I think he's probably going to end up still running to his right just because of what I said a lot.
