Hello there.
Thank you for having me, both of you.
it is in fact it's a dance style that if you remember when you were you're studying your your dancing it's not written down so it's a dance style that is actually passed down from mother to daughter and it's from aunt to niece you know from grandmother to you know everybody
in the family and both men and women pass it on.
So it's an amazing dance form because it's very village oriented.
And that's what I really liked about it.
But what makes it even better is the fact that it's so old.
It's an ancient art form.
It's an ancient dance that was done for ritual and ceremonial purposes way back in pharaonic times, like in pharaonic Egypt.
So it was done to make sure the harvest was going to be fruitful and harvest time will be plentiful for everybody and for childbearing.
As a matter of fact, I don't know if you remember this Karen, but a lot of the dance moves that we do are geared around birthing, having
the stomach muscles move along with the mom having the baby.
The women would gather around and push with her.
It was very much a whole village-oriented type of ceremony, having this baby.
This little baby coming into the planet has all these women, this feminine energy, just pushing, whether male or female, pushing them out and bringing them into the world.
It's very much a
gaia and village you know type of dance form that is just absolutely beautiful
hard.
