For a period of time, it captured some people, but this person had told me

That this was who this person was as a player a long, long time ago.

And it's unfortunate because then you wind up not maturing in that space at all over the course of however many years he's been in the league.

And that's just unfortunate.

I don't wish that on anyone.

But I was interested by that because that person's probably sitting somewhere right now saying, I fucking told you.

Find someone in your orbit, or they're probably not in your orbit, and that's why we're at this point, right?

No one exists in your orbit that will tell you what needs to be heard, even if that isn't going to be received by you in the most pleasant way.

Someone has to be there to have the tough conversations with cats.

It's just life.

Someone has to do that.

And so if they don't exist in your circle, which I'm assuming they don't,

man, go find you somebody that can keep it a buck with you.

It could be a vet in the locker room.

It could be a sports psychologist.

I don't know, but you got to get a mentor, dude.

Find someone who can really kick to you what is important because it becomes too late very quickly.

It sneaks up on you.
