you know, there's no suspicious as such uh from the umpires to suggest that we were doing something with the ball.

And so suddenly, you know, uh during the lunch break we were given a new ball and yet we

go on to win this game.

So I mean we just couldn't understand that.

Yeah, I mean from cricketing point of view we were absolutely ecstatic.

Uh beating England England in England was a big deal.

Um but then obviously we didn't need that controversy.

I mean we were being labeled as cheats.

Nobody wants that.

Um I never tempered with the ball myself, so why would I be part of the gang?

Uh so I felt really bad about the whole situation.

Um and most of us believed that we were we were undone uh uh you know, it was unjust from the British press to be uh to be going after us all the time with a suspicious eye.

Uh we didn't like it, we didn't and I mean that series should always be remembered uh because of what Wasim and Wakar achieved mm with the with the old ball.

It was just phenomenal bowling.

Really was.

Things are better now.

I think these um leagues have also contributed to uh knowing each other rather than living in that tribe mentality.

Exactly.

I think that really has helped to understand each other much better.
