What's not expected is that they'll sleepwalk then and stab somebody or commit an offence.

And so he was acquitted.

It probably helped that he had numerous character witnesses coming to court talking about how he was a really gentle man and this was really out of character and he'd never do anything like that in his right mind and so on.
