Well, think about kill kits when serial killers assemble the kit in preparation for finding victims.
The enjoyment he would have gotten is complete and utter power over her.
looking at the fear in her eyes, blotting her off the face of the earth so he doesn't have to think about her anymore, potentially killing her husband in front of her while she's still alive.
So he shows her who's really the boss in this situation.
And I think more importantly, a reversal of power.
He imagines she has power over him because she's moved on, but he's going to try to assert power over her, reverse power over her.

He's triumphing over her every time he engraves that bullet.
