People do hike up to the tower, but not often.
I averaged about one visitor every two or three weeks across my first two summers.
The kind of person who makes that hike is usually a serious backpacker.
Solo men in their 30s mostly.
Occasionally a couple.
Once a father and his grown daughter who were doing a long traverse.
They stay for 20 minutes.
They ask nice questions.
They sign the visitor log.
They hike down.
First two summers were routine.
I want you to know that.
Nothing happened.
I saw maybe seven or eight visitors across the two seasons.
All of them were normal.
All of them were who they said they were.
The third summer is what I'm telling you about.
I went up on the 12th of June.
My supply came in by helicopter on the 14th.
Food for 12 weeks.
