Maybe there are smaller steps along the way where you can actually allow yourself the possibility of going on a guided tour, going to places that are safer.
And what I've come to realize is that most of us are living our fears, not our dreams.
And it's because we have sometimes these conditioned responses that then become kind of a guiding principle that, oh, I'm conditioned, I'm not going to do it.
I would urge Brad to explore if there's ways to voluntarily and gradually engage with it.
I totally respect where he's coming from.
By the way, what he's describing is normal.
It's an absolutely normal human response.
But I also think that learning, not the absence of fear, is really the seed of courage.
So why allow this to paralyze one's life?
My nervous system is conditioned now to never do this again.
But maybe I can try something simple and small.
And as I do it, I convince myself that I can do it.
And honestly, it helps me overcome the trauma that I probably went through.
It must have been a, I can only imagine, but it sounds like a really traumatic experience.
The contrast effect always helps, right?
