And he even helped raise Perseus.
Polydectes wanted Danae to marry him, but she didn't love him like that.
So Polydectes used his wealth and power to try and control her.
He made it very clear that if she refused him, he would cut her off.
So Danae tried to dodge the proposal whenever she could.
As Perseus matured into an adult, he became so bothered by the whole setup.
He kept picking arguments with Polydectes and would crash their date so his mom wouldn't have to give in to his proposals.

So Perseus was fully equipped when he finally found Medusa's cave.
Eventually, Perseus reached a sleeping chamber, where Medusa, Steno, and Euryale were all sleeping together.
At that moment, they were defenseless.
So Perseus lifted his sword as high as he possibly could.
