Well, Jesus told us in John 7.

He said, the world hates me because I testify of its deeds that are evil.

Criminals hate the police because the police stand for righteousness and the criminal wants to do that which is wrong.

And that's the state of the sinner.

So what I want to do is move away from that carnal mind as quickly as I can because it's in a state of hostility.

It's going to be contention.

I believe in apologetics.

We've got a whole Bible called the Evidence Study Bible, which is pregnant with apologetics, but I only use apologetics very lightly.

I move away from trying to prove God's existence, the infallibility of Scripture, the reason for suffering, all those things.

I want to move away from that quickly because I'm going to get contention.

And I go to the conscience.

And there's an easy way to do that.

All you do is say, do you think you're a good person?

That's move from the intellect to the conscience.

I even ask atheists, can I have permission to move away from your intellect now to your conscience?

And they say, sure.

Not realizing how powerful this is, this weapon that I've got.

How many lies are you told?

Ever stolen something?

Used God's name in vain?
