They hired this guy by the name of Frank Luntz.
Remember when we used to talk about global warming?
And remember how scary that was?
Frank Luntz gave us climate change.
It's just different, not necessarily worse.
Anyway, he is the one that came up with this phrase, death tax.
He rebranded the estate tax as the death tax.
Because a death tax sounded both scary and mean.
You know, like 10% of Americans want to get rid of an estate tax, but like 90% want to get rid of a death tax.
The estate tax is really just a tax in name only that really provides cover for the wealthy and no real burden.
So I don't think we should save the estate tax.
Personally, I think we need to abandon the estate tax.
They create their foundations and it's so great and we all benefit.
