I used to meet him in a few basketball matches there earlier with Claire Galway.
Look, it's fantastic.
I've never been in the stadium with the atmosphere like it was.
It was dreamlike, it was surreal and it was fully deserved.
And I think that's nearly part of the story as well.
They looked Kerry in the eye and Mayo got their goal early, I think 40 minutes or whatever.
and Kerry had time to come back but they just weren't able.
There was an energy particularly by Byron, Ryan O'Donoghue, Coby McDonald that we hadn't seen here before and you know it's totally understandable how Coby's going to the AFL, he's going over to St Kilda but you know he's a big loss to this thing but you know there's a beautiful photo in the Times of Coby with his girlfriend and Jordan with his girlfriend and
you know, family is club and club is family and now the county.
So it was absolutely amazing.
And we were up for a Jubilee celebration and, you know, it was just the atmosphere in the stadium, particularly after the game was just surreal.
And just for the listeners, there was a big, strong tall man in front of me, like I'd be 16 stone, this man was 20 stone, Grizzly Adams like beard.
And at half time I said, geez, I said, you're not too far away.
And he goes, do you think so?
We're kind of chatting and quick cup of tea or whatever.
And for the last 10 minutes, Matt, he shrank, like he just shrank into this person who was nervous and wasn't sure this was going to happen.
A few of us were having a look around for a defibrillator.
And when it finally happened, he turned around and he just burst into absolute tears, like massive guffaws of emotion.
