Now, eventually, it's 2005.
And at this point, Amy has stolen about $1.7 million from Bob's company that's meant to pay the taxes.
And one day, as a last resort, the IRS calls Bob's home.
And they're trying to see if they can resolve this.
And so Amy answers the phone.
But the IRS doesn't want to talk to her.
They insist on speaking directly to Bob.
Like, hello, this is Bob.
But of course, the IRS, they're not buying that.
They know something's up.
So they immediately become suspicious.
And one of the IRS agents tells Amy that they'll be coming by to speak to Bob tomorrow in person.
And so now Amy is freaking out.
I mean, she doesn't know what she's going to do.
She knows that once Bob speaks to them, her whole scam is going to fall apart.
Plus, Bob will probably get all mad and divorce her and she might lose custody of her kids and then she'll lose the lifestyle that she's been enjoying for years.
And she is not about to let that happen.
So she comes up with a devious plan.
That night, she plans to shoot Bob while he's sleeping, and then she's gonna stage the scene to make it look like a robbery gone wrong.
That way the IRS will never be able to talk to him.
