Our Lord obviously he's God the Son, but he took all our sins upon himself and uh

to m restore to and died for them to restore our our communion with God the Father.

And so it's it's just this uh it's really incomprehensible we spend our whole lives trying to understand how great God's love is for us that He would uh uh

have his own son uh suffer uh uh a a really cruel passion

uh and death.

Um I I I'm sure you've probably seen the the Passion Mal Gibson's film.

Uh d he he did a great service because he brought out uh sometimes people can have a kind of sanitized uh understanding of the passion and death of our Lord.

But in in that film it shows how

what the how cruel it was, the the flagellations, the um the beatings, the m uh so much loss of blood, the carrying of the cross, the crucifixion itself, which was a horrible form of death, uh by asphyxiation and uh in and but in in any case get back to the point

All of this was so that we might finally get it through our thick skulls, uh, how much God loves us, who we are, because He's created us in his own image and likeness, and therefore uh

uh has sent his son to give us the the spiritual power to overcome the sin and and death in our lives to be forever with him.

And his his great desire is that we should be forever with him in the kingdom of heaven.

is it

Yes.

There's a beautiful passage in the Gospels in which our Lord prays that we might all be one as he is one with the Father.

And uh uh uh

even w and and that is the the great mystery of redemption is that it is possible for us with the help of God's grace to attain an ever greater union of mind and heart with God himself and to find therefore our our perfect happiness.

But uh the

Our Lord himself.

As he was dying on the cross,
