It's safe.
I've read a lot because with LinkedIn tools, you have to be really careful not to get your account banned.
And it has a big community, a big private Facebook group that you can share knowledge.

Well, I've been using it for more than one month and with their limited recommendation, everything works fine.
So I think that I've got about 800 new connections in about two weeks.
