One is that this war could wrap up very shortly.
That came from the president.
And then the president has also said it could be four to six weeks.
Based off of just conversations I've had with sources and talking to people and just being in these briefings, I feel like it's likely that it goes to those four to six weeks.
Does this, like your previous guest talked about, does this require boots on the ground or does it require arming Iranian citizens?
I think that's a really...
interesting proposition.
One thing I do want to draw your attention to, Steve, I asked this in one of the press briefings, what is the post-war plan?
I think we can talk a lot about the war expanding and how long it's going to go, but I think that's the next big topic that people need to start talking about and that we want to start reporting on.
Is the United States going to be involved in the aftermath or are they going to leave it to the Iranian people?
I posed this to Secretary Hegseth and he told me that the aftermath will be in the U.S.
interests.
you can do with that answer what you will.
I think that is a roundabout way of saying that the United States will be involved in the aftermath of the Iranian conflict.
And so that's the thing that I think Americans need to start to focus on, because even if this war does wrap up quickly, if the United States chooses to stick around in Iran and help with the aftermath, that makes things a little bit longer.
It makes it a little bit more complicated.
That's so hard.
The one thing I've learned is that President Trump, he almost never surprises me.
I feel like.
that they're going to do everything they can to make it happen.
