One of the things was a soccer reporter.
And we were sitting on the grass at college and I was almost graduated and the plan was still for us to launch ourselves.
And she showed me it and she said, look, there's an audition for a sitcom that I think we should go for, which we did and failed.
But there's also a soccer reporter.
Why don't you go for that?
And I said...
Because I'm a woman and like, I don't think I'm going to, still in 2002, by the way, there was no, I didn't know very many girls who liked football yet.
And she says, yeah, but that might be, to be honest, that might be a good thing because we were just starting to enter a whole new world of like, who knows, maybe we can turn the tables a little bit.
So I said, okay.
So I applied for it.
Long story short, I graduated, forgot all about it.
A few months later, I got a letter and I got to the next round and I kept getting to the next round and the next round.
And six months after I graduated, I won it.
And it was a six-month contract as a reporter with the BBC on a couple of their flagship soccer shows.
And I took the job.
It was a six-month contract.
I took the job thinking, well, that's fine.
I'll just do it.
It's really good money for six months.
