"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

So if...

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

I'm saying that to you, that's true.

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

But CiarΓ‘n, can I just actually make another point on what Vivian just said there and she made very valid points

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

about how the young kids and they're attacking each other.

"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

But the parents, the parents actually need to go on.

"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

Some of them, like around, say, Ballymun, for example, the way they speak to their children, they speak to them like they're the dirt on their shoes, screaming and roaring at them in shop.

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

They don't seem to be able to communicate with their children or how to parent properly.

"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

and how you actually bring up a child properly.

"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

Like, how is that child going to feel if it's been screamed and roared at, you know, when it's a child, when they grow up?

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

Even things like that, that they could do.

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

Not really, no.

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

When you're screaming at a child in a shop, going, get up off the ground, roaring at them, screaming at them like you've lifted the dirt on their ground.

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

Come on, Rebecca.

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

In general, I think every parent should go on that course.

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

No, no.

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

Well, I have been listening, CiarΓ‘n, to what has been said and I have been in education for over 40 years and I have dealt with children from Ballymun and their parents and still am and they haven't high absentee rates.

Liveline
"I was 11 [when I first held a gun]"

Now, they come to school, their parents are doing their best but I would say education, education, education and it starts

at junior infants.

And DASH schools would need smaller classes, more teachers, and maybe situated in an area where if the child isn't in school, somebody can go and bring the child to school.
