Now, that's saying parents now have no responsibility.
But for some parents, life is a struggle and it's not to do with money.
There are parents who are
wonderful, and in every area, Ballymun, wherever, there are parents who are irresponsible.
But they need to be taught, not punished, but taught.
Maybe parenting classes for all.
Like, we all, when I had my daughter, I mean, nobody told me, you learned from what your mother did.
Maybe some of those, it's intergenerational, and
maybe it's going back they had to leave school when they were younger and they want most parents in Ballymun want something better for their children and they are working for that purpose but a few bad apples this whole thing about Ballymun and Ballymun like there's wonderful work being done in Ballymun now I don't teach in Ballymun but I have children from Ballymun and parents come to parent teacher meetings
that shows that they're interested.
We can't just say we'll punish all children and children, parents do their best, should they get into debt, to buy them the new phone because they want their children to be as good and to have the same things as other children want.
And we all want the best for our children.
But at some stage, maybe at 17, they just say, right, this is it.
and they go off and do their own thing.
But maybe if there was local guards who were working in the area with a social worker, and it was connected to the school at junior level, but I think the classes are too big, and DASH schools should be given more money.
DASH schools in disadvantaged areas should all be plus.

More money must be invested in education for children to see, yes, I can go to DCU.
It's down the road for me and I can go there.
