But yeah, structure as well was another awesome one.

You know, we're still kind of old school in a way that we're still on network television, structuring to commercial breaks, that's kind of not really common anymore because a lot of people were straight to streaming, right?

But at the same time.

Same time that's taught me a lot because how often do I sit down to watch a pilot on a streaming service and it goes for an hour and there's no build?

And I'm like, there's no build because they haven't structured it.

Because back in the olden days, people used to go to the bathroom or quickly heat up their snack in the microwave.

And you wouldn't want to miss, you know, you had the commercial breaks and you wouldn't want to miss, you want to come back.

And so getting people to come back and keeping an audience

To stay with you is like the hardest thing to do.

So yeah, if you're not riding to kind of an old style commercial break.

structure, um, your pacing is gonna be off.

I think that's that's a common problem that I see with a lot of streaming pilots at the moment.

Yeah, so every every story needs build, right?

We need tension and we want to keep the audience coming back.

Like you want to finish a scene and then be like, I want to come back and know what happens to the scene after that.

And so what I find is, especially with half an hour of television, the way we do it at home and away, is the first seven scenes is a probably about 15 pages.

and that's gonna give you eight to nine minutes of content.

And then something really big has to happen at the end of that, that seven or eight scenes or that, you know, that eight minutes.

And then

Because it's still commercial break on network television, we would probably do another four to five scenes, and another big thing will have to happen at the end of those four or five scenes.
