My district is urban, rural, and suburban.

And I call it a snapshot of the state of Washington and really a snapshot of America.

And we visited farms.

We visited manufacturers.

We visited senior recreation centers.

I spent time with the Black Collective, a group that I belong to.

We went to the opening of a big Asia Pacific cultural center.

So lots of different parts of my community.

And two things I heard, and for all my colleagues who are watching this, if you're watching, I heard more people thank me for serving in Congress.

And sometimes you think everyone's going to come at you and they're going to yell at you and tell you what you're not doing right.

I had more people tell me, thank you for serving in Congress and thank you for being in the fight.

But the thing I heard most, just the cost of living.

Everything is expensive now and people are worried about it.

Folks are worried about Social Security.

They're worried about their veterans' benefits.

And they're worried about getting health care taken away.

Those three things were very prevalent in my district.

And be thankful she's not because I was a caregiver for my mom in the last years of her life.

And it's a difficult transition when someone has been active and vibrant and illness falls their way.

Right.
