And we grew to appreciate each other.
I like to deal with people that we didn't always be on the same page, because when we come together, we're more powerful, because we know why we came together.
I got to know him so well, I met his mama.

And I watched him go from a cub reporter to a member of the editorial board of Washington Post, host his own show on cable TV.
He has become the epic media person from our community and yet maintained his authenticity.
