They say age, but maybe people who are more traditionalists and they are like, this is the only caliber, this is the only cartridge you need to take down whatever big game you need to versus the guys who are sort of the more maybe younger, maybe more gear oriented guys who are always looking for the latest and greatest. voice-verified

Yeah, it's easy to assume that when you can ring steel with a rifle and a particular cartridge at 1,000 yards, that you can make this 750-yard shot on a deer or whatever it is that you're shooting with ease, but that's not necessarily the case. voice-verified

And another controversial topic, obviously, with big-game hunting is long-range big-game hunting because while there are people who are skilled enough and proficient enough to be able to pull that off, I think that— voice-verified

Equipment has gotten so good that someone who's not probably well-suited to make a long shot like that might assume that they can because they can hit that at the range, but there's a lot of variables involved in a real hunt. voice-verified

Because if you try to make that long shot and you gut shot the animal or you wound him, shoot him in the leg or whatever the case is, then that can create a whole bunch of ethical dilemmas. voice-verified
