Look, Mahomes is still Mahomes, even though he's injured coming off the ACL and LCL reconstruction.

And you still have Andy Reid, who is easily one of the most strategic game planners you could imagine.

He's done such wonderful things with that offense and really with that team overall as a tone setter for the organization.

But here's the key questions for the Chiefs heading into the season.

Now, I'm buying them at a value.

I like Chiefs stock right now, but is Mahomes going to be healthy?

And if he is healthy enough to play week one, what level of Mahomes are we getting?

So much about his game is his ability to move in the pocket.

And I do mean in the pocket.

Yeah, he can get outside the pocket and create, and obviously when he's mobile and on the loose, he's deceivingly athletic.

But man, a big part of his game is those quick twitchy lower body movements in the pocket to give himself that extra fraction of a second to get a pass off over the middle or to find that receiver who's breaking late.

It's really important that they have a healthy Mahomes.

So if that means...

that they've got to get through the first four games of the season on limited use or potentially have him sit for a little bit so they get the best version of Mahomes for this season.

If you look at their early season, it's not treacherous.

They could probably survive.
