And so I thought, well, it's him.

So that really went wrong for my friend in that sense.

And so I didn't call him back straight away.

Obviously, in time, I let him know that I knew and then he denied it.

But it's pointless denying it.

I knew it was him.

I'd found out because I happened to have a PR who'd recently edited The Sun, who knew the editor of the News of the World.

And so that was fascinating and really surprising.

We really were best friends.

I drove to the house of the editor of Blue Peter called Oliver McFarlane, nice guy who'd given me the job.

And he was on this little housing estate and I got there.

And then it knocks on the door.

I told him I was coming.

I told him what for.

His wife answered.
