How many tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of innocent Iranian civilians would you live with?
Could you stomach?
Do you have the stomach for?
And then if it's boots on the ground, how many British, Allied, American, Canadian, whatever soldiers are you prepared to see coming home with limbs ripped off from IEDs?
How much suffering can you stomach?
To get what you want is a good question when we're talking about these things.
And so there is a kind of a non-empathetic little evil that comes in on the back of that.
These are news stories.
I'm not smelling anything.
I don't know an Iranian who lives in Iran.
I can't see the impact on a family that I know.
I've never been in their house.
I've never drank tea in the living room.
If I had, as a human being, as a limited animal, as a primate, I would feel differently.
