I mean, listen, it happened to me.
I mean, it's almost identical to Colorado in that we had 121 points in Washington, and then we lost to Montreal in the first round.
And you sit back and you go, what went wrong?
Or did...
did injuries or did you try to make up excuses?
I think when you look at it overall, Colorado was a great team, but were they a great regular season team and not a playoff team?
Because they haven't won since 22, I think.
And I would really have to rethink the roster a little bit, the makeup of the roster.
But it's great being the best team only losing two games in the first 40 games, but
I'd certainly rather be the best team that wins seven in a row or 11 out of 12 in the playoffs rather than at the beginning of the year.
Well, I think...
I think McKinnon really thought that they could win the Cup.
And I mean, he looked like a man that was never happy because he wanted to win so much.
I think he'll be more disappointed in the eight months you have to play great at winning the Stanley Cup rather than the two weeks of the Olympics, even though it's something every player dreams of.
But
every player dreams more about winning the Stanley Cup.
So I think he'd be more disappointed in this year and the year he had.
you know, 53 goals and the team being the president's trophy winner and believing probably every time he went to bed that we're going to win the cup and it's going to be my best year ever and not winning that.
And I think he'll always remember the Olympics, but it won't always be the thing that's reminded of him year after year when he's home or if he stays and lives in Colorado.
It's a great question.
