What were they trying to accomplish?
They were trying to get the attention of the United States.
They wanted a war.
They didn't understand us and come to hate us.
They have a very rudimentary idea of who we are.
People say, Oh, they they were making a political statement, but the captured notebooks tell us they really didn't know that much about us.
So they had studied our system, found a weak point, took advantage of it.
They looked at the FAA's website and found the airports with the largest number of security violations.
They did go to these flight schools where chillingly they said they didn't need to learn how to take off or land.
They just needed to know how to operate their aircraft in the air.
You suddenly realize that your country is crowded with heroes.
Wearing ordinary faces.
On the day itself.
Twenty five years ago today.
War planes were hijacked.
And unlike normal
Normal hijacking.
They did not uh communicate with the outside world, they did not demand ransom.
And instead they f purposely flew these planes into buildings on what everyone describes as a clear, perfect uh Tuesday sky.
It uh they crashed into the um the towers.
